Arelia’s operation is based in Guia, in the Albufeira municipality. That means hotels in Albufeira are not an outlying stop on our route — they are our immediate area. For a hotel laundry, proximity is not a matter of convenience: it is what makes a 24-hour turnaround possible in high season without relying on slack that disappears the moment the hotel fills up.
Albufeira has a density of beds unusual anywhere in Portugal, spread across large resorts, smaller hotels and holiday rentals. Each of those formats has a different linen profile — and a different problem when the laundry lets them down.
The area we serve is not limited to these places — we cover the whole Albufeira municipality and the rest of the Algarve. These are simply where we collect most often.
The work splits into three families of textiles, each with its own process: bed linen (sheets, pillowcases, protectors), towelling (bath towels, face towels, bath mats, robes) and uniforms for front-of-house, kitchen and housekeeping staff.
The cycle is the same for all of them: we collect at the agreed time, counted and bagged; we wash and sanitise; we dry, press and fold; we return it wrapped and ready to go straight into service. Delivered within 24 hours.
Bed linen rental with the ARELIA embroidery and digital item tracking are in preparation — they are not yet available.
Between June and September, linen volume at an Albufeira property climbs sharply. An in-house laundry answers that peak in one of two ways: it invests in capacity that stands idle all winter, or it breaks down in precisely the week the hotel is at 100%.
Outsource it and that swing becomes our problem rather than yours. It is also why Arelia works with a deliberately limited client list: we would rather turn volume away than take on more than we can treat to the same standard in August as in February.
